Another journalist abducted:
HRCP demands immediate release
A group of unidentified armed men abducted Mr. Jawed Naseer Rind, correspondent of Daily Tawar, Hub, Balochistan on September 10, Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) says in a press release issued Tuesday.
According to eyewitnesses he was abducted from his IT shop. The family informed that First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged with the police but police has failed to recover him. Daily Tawar is an Urdu daily published from Hub, Balochistan.
The sharp rise in killings and other forms of violence against journalist is linked directly to the fact that almost all cases in the last few years where journalists have been killed or attacked on account of their work the culprits remain unidentified and unpunished.
HRCP reiterates its concern over lack of safety for journalists and the increased incidents of kidnapping and murder of journalists in Pakistan.
