Regional Directors’ conference commences

A two-day Regional Directors’ Conference at National University of Modern Languages (NUML) commenced on Monday in which all the Directors of 7 regional campuses of the university participated.

The conference was chaired by the Rector NUML Maj. Gen (Retd) Masood Hassan and he opened the discussion of the house. Director General (DG) NUML while welcoming the participants of Regional Directors’ Conference said that it is great honour to welcome all the respected Directors of different Regional Campuses and this conference has provided us a great opportunity to sit under one roof like members of a family and discuss all those issue which can facilitate our cause of promoting higher education.

He further told that holding of this conference would enable all 7 campuses and the main campus to synchronize their efforts to get better results of their efforts. The DG also narrated the important feature of the conference and how the conference would proceed. He informed that they would like to keep it a regular feature of the university and hope that the next such conference would be held in any of the regional campuses.

After the welcome speech of DG, the Director from each regional campus briefed the conference about their regional campus. They threw light on the strengths, potentials and challenges of their respective campuses and briefed the participants that how they were meeting challenges of imparting good education within given sources. The conference also concentrated on points and areas with the help of which certain targets can be achieved. A detailed discussion on agenda points was carried out and the participants raised the points which were common to most of the campuses.

The Directors of regional campuses who briefed the meeting included Director Faisalabad Campus Prof Abdul Waheed, Director Hyderabad Campus Prof Nisar Ahmed Khan, Campus Karachi Prof Tanvir Zia, Director Lahore Campus Prof Saeed Ahmed Khan, Director Multan Campus Prof Abdul Razzaq, Director Peshawar Campus Prof Mushtaq Hussain, Director Quetta Campus Prof Muhammad Yunus Jafar.

The conference was attended by Director Regional Services, Director Administration, Director Libraries, Director Finance and Director Exam. The second and concluding session will be held tomorrow on Tuesday.
