Messy traffic: No end to nuisance for people
Traffic system of twin cities worsening day by day
With unprecedented development in Islamabad as well as Rawalpindi, a surge in the traffic mess has been seen observed for quite long and there is no end to the woes of the masses.
The worst problem is of the presence of commercial buildings like colleges, schools, and clinics on the verge of the road causing lots of serious problems of traffic jam.
It is also against the law to make commercial buildings near the living areas and roads. There are lots of schools and clinic present on the road but no one is bothered to check their legality that whether it should be situated on the road or not.
The roads of the twin cities are already very congestion and especially on the peak hours lots of traffic mess and rush is being seen on the roads. Most of the schools in the Rawalpindi city are situated right on the main road and it becomes difficult for the motorists to pass through this mess smoothly.
While talking to INFN Muhammad Yasir a father of two who was waiting in front of school for getting his children from school to home said, “In the morning I have to spend 40 minutes in dropping my children at school and same is the case at the time of picking them from school as well. Lot of parents like me have become sick to this routine.”
“During the peak hours there is a lot of public transport plying on the roads as well as the school transport for pick and drop which adds to miseries of the people. Everyone has to wait for their turn to just cross the vicinity of the school but it takes forever doing so,” he added.
The most congested places in the Rawalpindi city where there is already host of traffic jams are also full of schools just on the verge and corner of the road. They include Sadiqabad, Satellite Town, Sir Syed Chowk, Jahangir road, Lalazar road and Sixth Road where there is a mushroom growth of schools on just opposite to road and they don’t have their proper parking but people just have to park their vehicles on the side of road making hurdles in the smooth running of the traffic.
