‘Training Workshop on Safeguarding Intangible Culture’:
Certificate Distribution Ceremony Held
Certificate Distribution Ceremony took place yesterday (Thursday) in the main auditorium at Pakistan National Council of Arts here.
Within the context of the project ‘Safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Pakistan’ of UNESCO Islamabad, this Certificate Distribution Ceremony was arranged on completion of training on assisting the State Party in preparation of Urgent Safeguarding List and Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Staff of Lok Virsa Heritage Museum, Pakistan National Council of the Arts and Pakistan National Commission for UNESCO Islamabad attended the training.
This training which concluded on 25th May 2011 was in continuation of first training, which ended on 5th May 2011, the certificates of which were due. The first training was focused on understanding of the 2003 Convention for Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage, data collection, inventorying and use of Geographic Information System in the mapping process.
