No load shedding at Sehr, Iftar but at daytime

Pakistan Electric Power Company (Private) Limited has announced load shedding schedule for the month of Ramazan.

Director General PEPCO Ejaz Rafique Qureshi told media that there would be no load shedding in the Sehri and Iftar and prayers times. However, daytime load shedding would be observed to meet the gap between supply and demand. He said the government has paid Rs. 60 billion to power companies that would help restart power plants. Power load shedding for textile and other industry sector is temporary.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Water and Power met at Parliament house under the chairmanship of Nawabzada Mir Laskhari Raisani and discussed the situation arising out of the power load shedding. The Secretary Water and Power told the Committee that the government will ensure electricity supply across the country during 3 to 5 am and 7 to 9 pm to facilitate people for Iftar and Sehri.
