NUML-Turkmen Institute of Language Collaboration

Turkmen delegation visits NUML

Turkmen Scholar Mr. Ashyyerpesov Wezir, Teacher of English and Researcher, Institute of International Relations of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met Director General (DG) of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Brigadier Azam Jamal on collaboration between NUML and Turkmenistan Institute of Languages in different fields of study.

The DG said, “NUML can extend help and cooperation in research and learning in different language areas, particularly in English Language and in other faculties of the University including International Relation (IR).”

Dr Rubina Kamran informed the Turkmen side and said, “It is a Confucius Institute which is the first of its kind in the whole Islamic world. We are here offering various levels of courses in English Language and Turkmen students can benefit from it.”

Dr ZA Qureshi apprised the participants that the Turkmen Institute of Languages is teaching Hindi Language and there is a scope of introduction of Urdu Language as well as there are bright chances for collaboration between the Institute of International Relations Ashhabad and Department of International Relation (IR), NUML.

Turkmen delegation also paid visit to the faculty of English Language and Literature. The meeting was of the opinion that draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) should be exchanged between the two sides so that the same is read for the signature when Turkmen President H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pays an official visit to Pakistan in November next.

The meeting was also attended by Maj Gorench Orazov, Deputy Defence Attaché, and Ambassador of Turkmenistan from Turkmen side. Dr Rubina Kamran, Dean Faculty of English Language and Literature, Prof Dr ZA Qureshi, Head of Department (HoD) of International Relations (IR) and Dr Asma Naveed, Head of Russian Language Department.

The delegation was also lauded by the DG NUML Brigadier Azam Jamal who opined that such events and cooperation measures are important for the healthy exchange of culture and the academic studied between the two countries.
