Kyrgyz artists enthral audience with heart rendering musical performances at NUML
Pak-Kyrgyzstan very closed geographically but very far away in terms of communication links: Kyrgyz Ambassador
The culture day of Kyrgyz Republic in Pakistan was celebrated in connection with the celebration of the 20th Kyrgyz Independence Ceremony here on Thursday in Islamabad in NUML main campus Islamabad where the audience was entertained with the melodious songs of the Kyrgyz’s artist.
“Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan are very close historically, culturally and geographically but they are still far away in terms of air, railways and road links. We positively hope that both respective countries would accelerate their efforts to enhance road, railway and air proximity,” this was stated by the H.E. Alik Orozov, Ambassador of Kyrgyz Republic while addressing a gathering of the faculty members and students of the NUML in IT Auditorium.
The Ambassador Orozov told the students and participants of the programme that Kyrgyz people feel themselves very close to their Pakistani counterparts. Besides this we are very close neighbours and close to each other as we share common historical, cultural, social and ethical roots and values.
While talking to the evolution of Kyrgyz nation and its link with subcontinent he informed students that Sultan Babook was their ancestor who visited India and declared it a second home. Moreover, he said that people of Kyrgyzstan show their affection towards their Pakistani brothers by naming their daughter after the name of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
He said that with the help of such functions and performances of our artists we want to bring the people of both countries near to each other. He expressed his gratitude to the administration of NUML for arranging such a programme to celebrate the 20th Independence Ceremony of Kyrgyzstan and hoped that the University will keep arranging such events to enhance the bilateral ties and understanding between the two countries.
Prior to his address Director General (DG) NUML Brig Azam Jamal while welcoming the Chief Guest in his welcome speech said that it is a unique occasion to know more about the Kyrgyzstan through a very informative documentary and the musical performances of the Kyrgyz artists. Pakistan enjoys cordial relations with Kyrgyzstan since her independence on 1991 as they have common roots and norms.
After these addresses a documentary depicting Kyrgyz culture and the Kyrgyz nation’s march towards development and modernization while protecting their past and culture. Then the Kyrgyz artists who were dressed in beautiful and cultural attires enthralled the audience with their heart rendering Kyrgyz music and tunes. They played different folk, cultural and national tunes and it was followed by a Pakistani national song by a Kyrgyz artist Gull Nara.
In the end Deputy Head Mission Councillor Kubanchbek Toktorbaev also threw light over the potentials and prospects which both countries can avail for better economic and bilateral ties. Head of IR Department ZA Qureshi thanked the Chief Guest and NUML administration for the arrangement of this successful event in the University premises.
DG NUML presented NUML Shield to honourable Chief Guest H.E. Alik Orozov and the artists while Kyrgyz Ambassador presented gifts to DG NUML and Head of IR Department. The photographs of renowned Kyrgyz Pakistani photographer Kareem Jan was also displayed for the students of University.
